Turn off the light
(Personal, Memory, PTSD, Short)
As a Wuhan resident, I flew to Edinburgh to get some respite after the most challenging time in Wuhan in the early stages of the COVID outbreak, but I never expected the nightmare to come closer to me. Was it the pandemic that trapped me or the shadow it cast over me?
From the director's personal point of view, this film follows her as she begins to realize the impact of the PTSD issues brought on by COVID-19 on herself, and she starts to explore her traumatic memories and tries to find a way to alleviate the symptoms.

Before My Next Breath
(Personal, obsessive-compulsive disorder, Short)
This film aims to show the daily life of the director herself with OCD on the level of both external behavior and internal thought activity to discuss questions:
1. How to use documentaries to record mirror images of OCD(Obsessive-compulsive disorder) patients' daily lives as a kind of alternative satisfaction for them to help their body reconfirm the fact and to reduce symptoms (meaningless repetitive actions)
2. How to give OCD patients a third-party perspective through a documentary so that they can better observe their physical and mental state and reduce the mental stress they cause themselves.
3. Whether autobiographical documentaries can help society to develop deeper empathy and understanding of particular groups (e.g. those with mental illnesses or other marginalized groups) and help to de-stigmatize and change the stereotypes of these groups.
Before My Next Breath
Endless Song

Insecurity
(Personal, Experimental, Sound design course project, Short)
The film attempts to structure the images and the editing with sound and to convey the emotional theme of "insecurity".
Sweet Dreams in the Storm
(Personal, religious belief, Mid film work in process)
※ The film was originally planned as a graduation project and was turned into a personal project due to its length.
Growing up in an atheistic social environment and having no religious beliefs herself, the director, as a native of Wuhan, felt very uneasy about her life and future after experiencing a prolonged blockade caused by COVID-19. While studying in Edinburgh, she met her staunchly Catholic roommate, which made her start to think about whether religious beliefs can give people inner peace in a turbulent environment; and if not, what people should rely on to find inner security and certainty?
